Our Story
Founded by Douglas Quiroga, a Bolivian dentist living in the United States, Smile Bolivia is the result of a life devoted to service. After years of self-funded medical missions, Douglas and his team have invested time, resources, and passion into making a vision come true: that every child and adult in Bolivia can smile without pain, without shame, and in good health.
What is Smile Bolivia?
Smile Bolivia is a mission of love, health, and human commitment. Born from the desire to provide free medical and dental care to vulnerable communities in Bolivia, this initiative has brought hope to thousands of people without access to basic healthcare.
For over 10 years, a group of volunteers—including dentists, doctors, nurses, and other professionals—has traveled through underserved rural and urban areas, offering medical and dental care, medications, preventive education, and most importantly, dignity and compassion.
What began as occasional mission trips is now transforming into a structured project with a vision for growth, sustainability, and expansion.

My name is Douglas Quiroga. I’m a Bolivian dentist and the founder of Smile Bolivia, a project born out of love for my country and a deep desire to bring health and hope to the most vulnerable communities. After more than 10 years of volunteer work in Bolivia alongside dedicated doctors and dentists, we have changed thousands of lives through prevention, education, and free medical and dental care.
Today, with faith and purpose, I reach out to you because we believe your support can make a difference.
